Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) made a significant change in its top-tier management as revealed in a recent filing to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Zachary Kirkhorn, has decided to step down after holding the position for four years. Vaibhav Taneja, Tesla’s current Chief Accounting Officer, will be taking over the role.

Transitioning Smoothly

After spending thirteen years at Tesla, where he served as both Master of Coin and CFO, Kirkhorn is preparing to leave the company.

During his tenure, Tesla experienced remarkable growth and expansion in the electric car market. Kirkhorn expressed his pride in the company’s achievements and thanked the workforce and Elon Musk for their dedication.

Vaibhav Taneja, 45, joined Tesla in February 2017 and has held various roles within the company.

He started as an Assistant Corporate Controller and was promoted to Chief Accounting Officer by March 2019.

Before joining Tesla, Taneja gained experience in finance and accounting at SolarCity Corporation, where he worked from March 2016. He also had a tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers, serving both the Indian and U.S. branches from July 1999 to March 2016.
