Flux Set To Launch PoUW Beta to Solve AI Compute Challenges

Cambridge, UK, November 24, 2023 – Flux, a global provider of decentralized cloud infrastructure, is thrilled to unveil its latest milestone in the pursuit of efficient and sustainable computing solutions. With the launch of the Proof Of Useful Work (PoUW) client application, FluxCore (Beta), scheduled for release on December 15, 2023, Flux aims to revolutionize the landscape of decentralized cloud computing and solve current compute challenges worldwide.

“This release of FluxCore tackles the longstanding scalability challenge by optimizing computing resources to meet dynamic client needs, particularly in the AI sector. It paves the way for a decentralized cloud infrastructure future, emphasizing efficiency and environmental sustainability for everyone’s benefit.”— Daniel Keller, CEO & Co-Founder, Influx Technologies Limited

In response to the disproportionate balance between the availability of compute resources and their efficient utilization, FluxCore is designed to redistribute these resources to clients in critical need across different industries. Leveraging a high-performing network of over 13,000 globally distributed nodes, Flux has cemented its place in the Web3 world as a reputable provider of cost-effective cloud infrastructure. The Flux ecosystem is further distinguished by its advocacy of the Proof-of-Useful-Work (PoUW) approach, Flux redirects mining and computational efforts toward addressing real-world issues across several economic sectors.

FluxCore, therefore, encapsulates PoUW ideologies and Flux’s vision for a decentralized future. Using the software, owners of GPU hardware can connect their machines to the PoUW network, allowing them to either mine digital assets or benchmark their machines for compute-intensive tasks such as training machine learning models, cloud gaming, artificial intelligence, video rendering, and more. These functionalities are also available as specific modules that can be installed as needed.

The new software introduces an advanced alternating system that automatically lets users switch between mining and renting out their hardware for PoUW services. This remarkable improvement gives it an edge over conventional technologies currently available. Additionally, it features a web-based benchmark leaderboard that clearly shows the performance of participating machines on the network in real-time.

The FluxCore Beta incorporates various components essential for serving as the  backbone application of Proof-of-Useful-Work. Users can efficiently manage, analyze, and gain insights into their connected hardware, overclock GPUs, access an Account Page for security management, track historical data, and other essential features.

About Flux

The Flux Web3 cloud is a decentralized computing service and blockchain-as-a-service solution, offering an interoperable and decentralized development environment similar to AWS or Google Cloud. Flux utilizes a native POW (Proof-of-Work) coin to power this ecosystem, providing incentives for hardware hosters, on-chain governance, and bad actor mitigation via staking requirements for running hardware. The Flux operating system runs on top of Linux to provide the network with verified and benchmarked high-availability compute power and utilizes the blockchain to ensure transparency in governance operations. Flux Cloud is the world’s largest and most decentralized cloud infrastructure.
