Meralco Plugs into the Metaverse With VR facility

Meralco launched the Powertech Innovation and eXperience Lab (PIXL) that uses virtual reality for training and education in the energy industry.

PIXL uses devices like Oculus VR headset, Microsoft HoloLens, and projectors to create simulations.

PIXL is part of Meralco's vision for a "smart grid" and aims to drive the use of new technologies to achieve the country's smart grid vision.

The facility will be used for collaborations with academe, regulators, and other electric cooperatives in the Philippines or even other countries.
