Tron Founder Justin Sun Targets Zero-Fee Stablecoin Transactions and Comments

Justin Sun, the billionaire founder of Tron blockchain, recently made an exciting announcement about the future of Tron via X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter). In his post, Sun disclosed that Tron development teams are diligently working on dramatically reducing fees to offer users a zero-fee stablecoin transaction experience.

Several well-known stablecoins, such as USDT, USDC, and the Tron-based True USD (TUSD), operate on the Tron chain. Additionally, the Tron DAO Reserve has created USDD (Decentralized USD), and USDJ (JustStable) exists as an algorithmic stablecoin. These stablecoins already boast low transaction fees, with USDT and USDC transactions on Tron proving to be significantly cheaper than those on rival chain Ethereum.

The billionaire also highlighted a tweet from CoinGecko, revealing that the Ethereum blockchain generated the most significant transaction fees in 2024, amounting to a staggering $2.48 billion. Tron closely followed, earning $2.15 billion, with Bitcoin ranking third with earnings of $922.89 million.

In addition to providing updates on Tron, Sun also weighed in on Ross Ulbricht’s release. In a response to a tweet by the @Free_Ross X account, which celebrated Ulbricht’s newfound freedom, Sun stated, “Freedom is everything.” Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the infamous Silk Road marketplace on the darknet, was officially pardoned and released by President Donald Trump this week. Ulbricht had spent over a decade in prison on various charges, including narcotics sales, money laundering, and hacking.

The Silk Road was the pioneering platform to adopt Bitcoin as a mode of payment in 2011. However, it was shut down by the FBI in 2013, and Ulbricht received two life sentences plus 40 years without parole. After his arrest, the Bitcoin and libertarian communities petitioned US authorities to free Ulbricht or at least lessen his double life sentence.

On a final note, Sun recently published a plan outlining how he would drive the ETH price to $10,000 if he were in charge of Ethereum and the Ethereum Foundation. Undoubtedly, these developments indicate Sun’s commitment to cryptocurrency innovation and his unyielding belief in the power of freedom.
