One of the Biggest Theater Chains in the World Now Accept Dogecoin and Shiba Inu for their Tickets

Moviegoers may now pay for their tickets with dogecoin and Shiba Inu at AMC Entertainment, the world’s biggest movie theatre chain.

DOGE and SHIB enthusiasts have been waiting for AMC Theatres to embrace the two meme currencies since September of last year.

AMC Entertainment commonly known as AMC Theaters, is the largest movie theatre chain in the United States and Europe, with more than 900 locations. There are 950 theatres and 10,500 screens owned or managed by the company in various locations across the globe.

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron announced that amctheatres.com now accepts online payments in DOGE and SHIB.

Over half of the company’s ticket purchases are presently made using Google Pay and Apple Pay. However, in November 2021, AMC permitted patrons to pay for tickets and concessions using Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a number of other cryptocurrencies.

AMC and cryptocurrency

AMC was originally scheduled to begin accepting Dogecoin and Shiba Inu on March 19, although the change occurred more than a week earlier, according to U.today.

The Shiba Inu and Dogecoin integration were the subjects of a Twitter poll held by the movie theatre chain to determine whether or not it should continue with the integration.

According to Aron, his firm has begun accepting payments in these two cryptocurrencies after receiving a resounding yes from the community.

Crypto as a means of payment at Tesla

Many new ventures are coming forward and have started accepting Dogecoin as a mode of payment. At the start of February this year, it was announced that Dogecoin would be accepted as payment at Tesla’s supercharging stations by Elon Musk on Twitter.

It will be the first Tesla Supercharger to accept Dogecoin as payment, thanks to the Santa Monica Supercharger accepting Dogecoin as a payment option.

Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk also announced in a tweet that Tesla Inc. (TSLA.O) would accept the meme-based currency dogecoin as payment for its products, such as the “Giga Texas” belt buckle and tiny electric car models.
